On October 25, 2026, 56 of the 67 popular addons below had a version for WoW Forever, including Questie, Deadly Boss Mods, BigWigs, Details!, Auctionator, Bagnon, Plater, Pawn and ElvUI. Which addons does Forever make unnecessary?

WoW Forever runs on the modern game client, so several tools that needed an addon on Classic are built in: a damage meter, the Cooldown Manager, click casting with dispellable debuffs on raid frames, Edit Mode, an equipment manager, a swing timer and combined bags. Details!, Clique or Bartender4 still work, but they are a choice, not a need.

How does an addon know it runs on Forever?

An addon lists the game versions it supports in its .toc file. On the beta, Forever's interface number is 16001, and the game also reads .toc files ending in _Forever or _Camelot, Camelot being Forever's internal name. An addon without them is shown as out of date. The number may change at launch, so check for updates after November 4.

## Interface: 16001 is the version of Forever's beta and test clients (warcraft.wiki.gg, TOC format).
AddOnName_Forever.toc or AddOnName_Camelot.toc: a .toc file for Forever only. Questie ships a Questie_Camelot.toc.
[AllowLoadGameType camelot] loads a file on Forever only, inside a shared .toc: ElvUI does it.
The wiki warns that the Camelot value “may be changed to Forever in the future”.

How do you install an addon on Forever?

Download the version marked Forever, then put its folder in the Interface\AddOns folder of your Forever install, or let an addon manager do it. Restart the game fully after adding a new addon: a /reload is not enough for new files.

What are Blizzard's rules for addons on Forever?

Addons are allowed on WoW Forever. Blizzard's add-on policy requires them to be free, without a premium version, and their code must not be hidden. Forever also uses the same limits as the modern game in combat: some values are hidden from addons during fights, so combat addons must be written for it. Blizzard has published no Forever-specific addon policy so far.

Questions about addons on WoW Forever

Does Questie work on WoW Forever?

Yes. Questie supports Forever since version 12; version v12.2.0+v1.0.7 came out on October 23, 2026. Its “fails to load on Forever” bug was closed on October 10, but 18 open GitHub issues still had Forever in their title on October 25, such as quests Questie doesn't know.

Does WeakAuras work on WoW Forever?

No, not on October 25, 2026: its newest file lists the Classic clients only. ForeverAuras and Musca Auras are WeakAuras forks for Forever by other authors, and Forever's Cooldown Manager covers part of the need.

Do I need Details! on WoW Forever?

No. Forever has a damage meter built in. Details! has a Forever version if you prefer it (October 16, 2026).

Do DBM and BigWigs work on WoW Forever?

Yes, both have a Forever file on CurseForge: DBM 12.1.17 from October 22, 2026 and BigWigs v427.8 from October 23, 2026. The Classic dungeon and raid modules of DBM are in the “DBM - SoD and Vanilla” pack, which also lists Forever.

Does ElvUI work on WoW Forever?

Yes: ElvUI 16.00, released on October 13, 2026, adds initial support for Forever. It is downloaded from Tukui, not CurseForge.

Does TradeSkillMaster work on WoW Forever?

Not on October 25, 2026: its newest file (v4.14.78) covers retail and the Classic clients, not Forever. Auctionator has a Forever version.

Why is my addon marked out of date on Forever?

Its .toc file does not list Forever's interface version (16001 on the beta) or a Forever .toc file. Wait for an update from its author: changing the number does not make the code work on Forever.
