WoW Forever auction house prices

Forever has no public auction house interface, so no website can read its prices directly. These come from players: they are scanned in game, at the auction house itself, then shared with the site. Each price is the median of the latest scans; the ones shown here come from 1 player.

Each price is the median of the latest scan of every player who shared one in the last 12 hours. An item missing from the latest full scan keeps its last known price with 0 for sale.

Beta prices: Blizzard does not carry beta progress over to launch, so these prices only give an idea.

Only the items for sale during the last full scan are listed.

What each column means

Lowest price
The cheapest listing, per unit, at the time of the scan.
Market price
The average of the cheapest 15% of units: what you really pay to buy a few.
Average
The market price smoothed over several days of scans: it moves less from one day to the next.
Sales per day
An estimate (the median of the players' estimates): the units that disappear from one full scan to the next. It also counts auctions that expire or are cancelled, so it is an upper bound, not an exact count. Never shown for a beta auction house: on a test realm, stock that disappears is not sales.
Vendor
What a vendor pays you for one unit. If the auction house pays less, sell to the vendor.
Isolated listing
3 units or fewer for sale at more than 100 times what a vendor pays (from 1 silver), or at more than 4 times the item's mean of the last 7 days; or any price more than 1,000 times the vendor price. Such a listing is shown apart, never as a market price, and counts in no cost, margin, total or sort anywhere on the site.

How it works

  1. 1

    Scanned in game

Prices are recorded in game, at the auction house itself: Forever has no public auction house interface.

  2. 2

    Shared with the site

Only prices are sent: never a character, an account or bags. Each player counts once.

  3. 3

    Everyone benefits

Each item gets its page with today's price on each auction house and its history, day by day.

What these prices feed

Where these prices come from

From auction house scans players made in game and shared with the site. The server keeps each player's latest scan for 3 days and shows the median. It never stores a name: only an anonymous code, so each player counts once.
