Where these NPCs come from

The creatures come from cMaNGOS classic-db, an open database of Classic, placed on Forever's own zone maps. Forever moved and changed some of them, so each page stays “to confirm” until players' records confirm it.

  • Names, levels, ranks, spawn points, vendor and trainer lists and loot tables come from cMaNGOS classic-db (GPL-3.0); prices of the items for sale come from Forever's own item table.
  • How a creature greets each faction and its faction name come from Forever's game tables.
  • Loot chances are the server's rolls in the Classic data. Once players share their loot from Forever, their measured rates show on the same page and win.
  • Search engines get the NPCs that sell, train or serve, give the guide's quests, are rares, bosses or dungeon elites, and any creature players met on Forever (a quest given, enough corpses looted); the others keep their page for players.

Questions about WoW Forever NPCs

Are NPCs and their spawns the same on WoW Forever?

Mostly: Forever keeps Classic's world and changes some zones (new NPCs and quests in the starting zones, some creatures raised in level). Each page says “Classic data, to confirm” until players' records from the game confirm it.

Are the drop rates real?

They are the chances of the Classic loot tables, as the server rolls them. Once players share what they loot on Forever, the rates they measure show on the creature's page and win over the Classic ones.

Why are NPC names in English on the French site?

The Forever client ships no creature names, and the Classic database has no French ones. French names come from players' records when they loot with a French client, and dungeon bosses take the game's French encounter names.
