How do you make gold in WoW Forever?

In WoW Forever you make gold by playing: the developers have no plans for a WoW Token, and there is no boost. Gold comes from four places: what you loot and gather, sold at the auction house or to a vendor; crafts that sell above the cost of their materials; Waylaid Crates, which drop from level 10 and can be traded; and quests. The prices below come from our beta scan of October 15, 2026.

One warning before the numbers. The beta was capped at level 20, then at 30 from October 1, 2026, until it closed on October 23, and Blizzard Support says beta progress is not carried over to the live game. The prices in this guide come from one player's full scan of a beta auction house (realm ClassicBetaPvE2, Alliance). They show what sells and in what order of size, not the launch prices. How do you make gold from level 1 to 20 in WoW Forever?

From level 1 to 20 in WoW Forever, the best gold is in gathering: pick two of Herbalism, Mining and Skinning, and sell what you collect at the auction house. On the beta auction house, copper ore sold for 56 copper against 5 at a vendor, and light leather for 43 copper against 15. From level 10, Waylaid Crates start to drop, and they sold for about 20 silver on the beta auction house.

• Pick the right buyer: linen sold for 18 copper on the beta, barely above its 13 at a vendor. Peacebloom was worth five times its vendor price, copper ore eleven times.
• Don't vendor crafted wands: since the October 1, 2026 beta notes, crafted wands sell for 1 copper to vendors, so the old trick of crafting wands for vendor gold is gone. The October 15 notes also lowered the vendor price of many other items made by professions.
• Keep your Waylaid Crates: they drop from level 10 and can be traded. On the beta auction house, apprentice crates sold for 18 silver to 1 gold 42 each. Our Merchant's Favor guide says when to fill one and when to sell it.

How do you make gold from level 20 to 40 in WoW Forever?

From level 20 to 40 in WoW Forever, mid-level materials are worth more: on the beta auction house, Kingsblood sold for 7 silver 67 each, Iron Ore for 5 silver 49 and Silk Cloth for 3 silver 58. Expert Waylaid Crates need level 20, and crafts start to pay: Shadow Oil, an Alchemy recipe, sold for 42 silver more than its materials. The beta stopped at level 30, so higher prices are thin.

How much gold do you need for the level 40 mount in WoW Forever?

Nobody knows for sure: as of October 25, 2026, Blizzard has not published the price of riding in WoW Forever, and the beta stopped at level 30, so no tester reached the trainer. Method.gg gives 100 gold at level 40, mount included, without saying where the number comes from. Developers said riding is going to cost more gold than before, with no free training at 40. Start saving from level 30.

What you can do now: keep your gathering professions up to 40, don't spend on gear you will replace a few levels later, and list your crates and materials instead of selling them to a vendor. How do you make gold from level 40 to 60 in WoW Forever?

From level 40 to 60 in WoW Forever there is no beta price yet: the beta never went past level 30. What is known: the developers said more gold will come from level-60 activities, and beta players found a Black Market at Powderfuse Port in Riverglades, where a goblin vendor sells rare materials such as Arcane Crystal for 50 gold and a 15-day mount speed buff for 150 gold.

Those vendors also cap the price of rare reagents: the developers said one sells Black Lotus for that reason (JudgeHype, October 13, 2026). Which professions make the most gold in WoW Forever?

Gathering makes gold fastest at low level in WoW Forever, because every crafter needs materials. Crafting pays once you know which recipes sell above their cost: in our beta scan of October 15, 2026, Root Tea (Cooking) sold for 13 silver more than its materials, about 1,190 a day, and Greater Healing Potion (First Aid) for 3 silver 67 more, about 2,250 a day.

How to read it: materials at their beta market price (vendor price for vendor reagents), sale price after the auction house's 5% cut (the rate of Classic's faction auction houses, used by our tools), and the estimated sales per day. How do you sell at the auction house in WoW Forever?

On the WoW Forever beta, the auction house refused listings below the lowest price with an "Internal error", so you list at the next price instead of undercutting. Listings lasted 2, 8 or 24 hours in our tests in October 2026. Blizzard has announced neither rule, so both may change at launch. Scan before you sell: prices move all day, and an item's usual price is only solid over several scans.

What gets you banned when you make gold in WoW Forever?

Buying or selling gold for real money gets WoW Forever accounts banned, buyers included: Blizzard said it will increasingly act against buyers' accounts, and during the beta it closed over 2,100 gold-buying accounts and almost 1,600 gold-selling or botting accounts, according to MassivelyOP. Since October 13, 2026, a Temporary Economy Hold can also freeze trade, mail and the auction house during a check.

• No WoW Token, no boost: the developers have "no plans" for a WoW Token in Forever (MassivelyOP, September 14, 2026).
• No AoE farming abuse: Blizzard capped the slow of Improved Blizzard at 40% (it was 65%), naming mages who farmed instances for gold farmers and boosters.
