What changes for the priest in WoW Forever?

The priest in WoW Forever gives Fear Ward and Devouring Plague to every race at level 20 and Shadow Word: Death to all at 32. Discipline gains Penance at 21 points, Holy gains Binding Heal at 16 and Prayer of Mending at 31 while losing Lightwell, and Shadowform now allows all non-healing spells. Holy Precision removes the healer's need for hit gear.

  • Fear Ward and Devouring Plague are available to every priest at level 20, regardless of race.
  • Shadow Word: Death is baseline at level 32: instant Shadow damage on a 15-second cooldown (18 seconds in beta build 70532), and you lose 10% of your maximum health if the target survives.
  • Divine Spirit is baseline at level 30, and Prayer of Healing now heals the target's party and their pets instead of your own party.
  • Renew can be active from several priests on the same target, and it can crit on the beta (September 24 notes).
  • Racial priest spells were re-evaluated, two per race: gnomes get Confounding Flash and Contingency Plan, undead get Dark Sacrifice, humans get Divine Grace.
  • Penance (Discipline, 21 points): a 2-second channel on a 12-second cooldown that damages an enemy or heals an ally, retuned in the October 8 beta notes.
  • Holy Precision gives up to 18% Holy hit so healers do not need hit gear, and Divine Aegis turns critical heals into a 12-second absorb (non-periodic heals only, with a cap, in beta build 70532).
  • Binding Heal (Holy, 16 points) heals you and your target with no cooldown, Prayer of Mending (Holy, 31 points) jumps 5 times, and Lightwell and Improved Prayer of Healing are removed.
  • Shadowform allows all non-healing spells, cuts the mana cost of Shadow spells by 50% and adds +100% to the Shadow critical damage bonus, with a lower flat Shadow damage bonus.
