What are the Night Elf racials in WoW Forever?
Night elves have four racial traits in WoW Forever, two active and two passive: Elune's Light and Shadowmeld, which you activate, and Quickness and Wisp Spirit, always on. Compared with Classic Era: 1 new and 3 changed. The texts and numbers below come from the game files of the Forever beta (build 1.60.1.70532), the old ones from Classic Era 1.15.9.70003.
Elune's Light
NewActive, instant, 3 min cooldown
Increases your critical strike chance with all spells and attacks by 10% for 15 sec.
In practice: A damage cooldown: more critical strike chance for spells and attacks for a few seconds, for every class.
Shadowmeld
ChangedActive, instant, 10 sec cooldown
Activate to slip into the shadows, reducing the chance for enemies to detect your presence. Lasts until cancelled or upon moving. Using this ability in combat discourages enemies from attacking you, but increases the cooldown to 2 min.
New values
In Classic Era: Activate to slip into the shadows, reducing the chance for enemies to detect your presence. Lasts until cancelled or upon moving. Night Elf Rogues and Druids with Shadowmeld are more difficult to detect while stealthed or prowling.
In practice: Hide out of combat, or make enemies drop you in combat at the cost of a longer cooldown; Blizzard says it works in druid forms.
Quickness
ChangedPassive
Dodge chance increased by 1% and movement speed increased by 2%. Night Elf Rogues and Druids are harder to detect in Stealth as if they were 1 level higher.
New values
In Classic Era: Dodge chance increased by 1%.
In practice: A little dodge and movement speed, always on; night elf rogues and druids are also harder to spot in stealth.
Wisp Spirit
ChangedPassive
Transform into a wisp upon death, increasing movement speed by 75%.
New values
In Classic Era: Transform into a wisp upon death, increasing speed by 50%.
In practice: Faster runs back to your corpse after a death.
What changed for night elves since Classic?
