WoW Forever library books: where to turn them in and the rewards at 10, 20 and 25 books

Where do you turn in library books in WoW Forever?

In WoW Forever, library books go to Garion Wendell in the Mage Tower of Stormwind City for the Alliance, or to Owen Thadd in the Magic Quarter of the Undercity for the Horde, according to Method's beta guide of October 9, 2026. The first reward unlocks at 10 books through the quest "Friend of the Library", then two "Greater Friend of the Library" quests follow at 20 and 25 books.

• Alliance: Garion Wendell, inside the Mage Tower of Stormwind City, /way Stormwind 49.0 86.3 (Method).
• Horde: Owen Thadd, in the Magic Quarter of the Undercity, /way Undercity 74.0 32.5 (Method).
• The quests: "Friend of the Library" at 10 books, then "Greater Friend of the Library" at 20 and at 25 books (Method; Blizzard's October 8 notes name "Greater Friend of the Library" for the bow).
• New NPCs: both librarians are new to Forever, so our Classic NPC data has no page for them yet.

What are the WoW Forever library rewards at 10, 20 and 25 books?

WoW Forever's library gives one reward of your choice at each step, according to Method: a necklace at 10 books, a ring at 20 books and level 20, then a bow, a shield or an off-hand at 25 books and level 30. In the game files of build 1.60.1.70685, the three last rewards require level 40, after Blizzard's October 8, 2026 beta notes raised the Truthseeker's Bow to level 40.

Every reward binds when picked up. Method's beta guide adds that no further reward was known after 25 books. Casters lean toward the Philanthropist's Ring and the Crest of Elucidation, hunters and rogues toward the Erudite's Amulet, the Field Researcher's Loop and the bow.

Where are all the library books in WoW Forever?

Method found 36 library books on the WoW Forever beta: 15 in zones for levels 1 to 20 (9 in the Eastern Kingdoms, 6 in Kalimdor), 7 in zones for level 30 and up, and 14 in zones for level 40 and up. The tables below give each book with its French name from the game files and its zone; Method's article gives the exact coordinates of each one.

Does the library unlock Research for mages in WoW Forever?

In WoW Forever's game files, Research is a spell of the mage-only Comprehension skill: "Research the magical arts with the help of a library". Its partner spell Study needs "a suitable library" and gives a Bundle of Scrolls; Method says it works once per hour with one Light Feather. Method adds that turning in your first library book unlocks Research, and that casting Research teaches Study (beta, October 12, 2026).

• Comprehension (French: Compréhension): a mage-only minor skill announced by Blizzard in the mage deep dive of October 7, 2026, learned at level 6 according to Method. It deciphers scrolls found in the world.
• Study (Étudier): "Perform spell research, resulting in a bundle of scrolls. Requires a suitable library" (game files). Method: once per hour, with one Light Feather, at the library.
• Library Shelf: the game files also hold a spell that summons "a shelf of books to a campsite, allowing it to function as a library", near a campfire. Who learns it is not known yet; camps are explained in our camping guide.

Can you trade or lose a library book in WoW Forever?

WoW Forever library books cannot be traded: in the game files every book is unique and binds when picked up, so each character collects its own 36. Method warned on the beta that a deleted book could not be looted again, and added that each book you hand in gives XP and some silver: turn them in at the library as you go. The rewards bind when picked up too and stay with the character.
