WoW Forever secrets: hidden items, what they do and how to unlock them

Which secrets and unlockable items are known in WoW Forever?

This guide covers nine WoW Forever secrets, from the Scarlet Banner to the Night Watchman's Torch. For each, we give what the game files of build 1.60.1.70707 say (October 30, 2026), then how to get it if Blizzard or the press published it. When nobody did, the page says so instead of guessing. What was found on the beta may differ in the launch client.

Blizzard leaves part of this to players on purpose: its mage deep dive of October 7, 2026 says the benefits of the scrolls are something "players will discover in their adventures". So we add no spoiler of our own and name no drop that no source gives. Item names link to our item pages, which show each tooltip from the game files.

How do you get the Scarlet Banner in WoW Forever?

The Scarlet Banner is a camp object in WoW Forever's game files of build 1.60.1.70707: "Raise a Scarlet Banner at a campsite. Requires a Campfire nearby." It binds when picked up, is unique, has item level 35 and a one-hour cooldown. Blizzard has not said how to get it, and the files name no source: to check in game after launch.

The files don't say what standing near it gives either: the spell only places the banner, with a 15-minute duration. No Blizzard article or beta note we read mentions it, so we name no boss and no quest. Its French name is Bannière écarlate. The camp objects whose effects are published are in our camping guide.

What does Booty Bay Bruiser's Buckshot do in WoW Forever?

Booty Bay Bruiser's Buckshot is now a plain gun in WoW Forever. It used to knock a target away, but Blizzard's beta notes of October 8, 2026 say it "no longer has a knockback effect". The game files of build 1.60.1.70707 give it 35-66 damage, speed 2.80, +3 Stamina and +9 Attack Power, and ask for level 30 and Honored with Booty Bay.

• Where to buy it: on the beta, the goblin vendor Gezzy Gunks in Booty Bay sold it for 2g 79s 80c once you were Honored, Kami Labs reported on October 6, 2026. Blizzard's articles don't mention the vendor.
• The old effect: a knockback on a 10-minute cooldown, which streamer Payo used to knock players off a ship in The Cape of Stranglethorn (Kami Labs). The spell's text is still in the spell table, but no item effect links to it in build 1.60.1.70707, so our item page shows no Use line.
• Binding: it binds when picked up, so it never sells at the auction house.

How do you turn into a pirate or ninja with Savory Whimsyfin Delight?

Savory Whimsyfin Delight is a WoW Forever food that turns you into an orc pirate or ninja for one hour. Method reported on October 12, 2026 that its recipe drops from any creature in Redridge Mountains at low odds, and that the Whimsyfin fish comes only from schools there. The recipe needs Cooking 85 in the game files, and pirate or ninja is random.

• Blizzard's line: "Savory Whimsyfin Delight now uses an orc equivalent of the Ninja and Pirate outfits from the Savory Deviate Delight" (beta notes of October 1, 2026).
• The recipe: Recipe: Savory Whimsyfin Delight is not soulbound, so it can be traded at the auction house (Method). It teaches this recipe.
• The fish: Whimsyfin. Method points to the schools near the murloc village by the small lake in the east of Redridge Mountains, and did not find it in open water.
• The form: it holds in combat, ends when you die or shapeshift, and another portion can give the other look (Method). The spell lasts one hour.
• The human version: Savory Deviate Delight gives a human pirate or ninja; Method says its recipe drops from any creature in the Barrens.

How do you get the Cozy Sleeping Bag in WoW Forever?

The Cozy Sleeping Bag comes from a questline across several WoW Forever zones, Icy Veins reported on October 10, 2026: it starts in Westfall for the Alliance or the Barrens for the Horde, and ends in Thoradin's Wall. Rest inside for one minute to earn more XP. In the game files of build 1.60.1.70707, the Well-Rested buff gives +1% XP for 2 hours and stacks three times.

• The route (Icy Veins): burned-out remains at Alexston Farmstead in Westfall and a ruined tower south of Camp Taurajo in the Barrens, Alliance in that order and Horde in the reverse, then Stonetalon Mountains, Stonewrought Dam in Loch Modan, and a jumping puzzle in Thoradin's Wall.
• Using it: the bag stays 20 minutes in the game files. Icy Veins adds that the buff persists through death and that your group can use the bag.
• Also on the way: the Old Toolbox, a 12-slot bag (Icy Veins).

Where does the Blueprint: Tanning Rack drop in WoW Forever?

The Blueprint: Tanning Rack dropped from Razorclaw the Butcher in Shadowfang Keep on the WoW Forever beta, says Icy Veins' guide, updated on October 19, 2026. It needs Leatherworking 140 and teaches a camp object that "allows the creation of certain reagents" and gives the benefits of a Camp Tent, says the game files of build 1.60.1.70707. Blizzard calls the rack required for advanced Leatherworking recipes.

• The boss: Razorclaw the Butcher in Shadowfang Keep. Blizzard's camping article of October 21, 2026 says items that need skill 140 or more are found through drops in dungeons and raids.
• Binding: the Blueprint has no binding in the game files, and our scan of October 15, 2026 saw it at the beta auction house.
• Other Blueprints: our camping guide lists the bosses found on the beta for eleven lines of Blueprints.

How does a mage get the Coldflame Saber in WoW Forever?

To make the Coldflame Saber in WoW Forever, a mage uses the Scroll of the Saber on the Blade of Silverlaine, Method reported on October 12, 2026. The scroll belongs to Comprehension, the mage skill Blizzard announced on October 7, 2026 to decipher scrolls dropped by creatures. PC Gamer says the sword was found in Shadowfang Keep and that its melee hits deal fire damage to frozen targets. We found no source for where the scroll and the blade drop.

• Comprehension: learned at level 6 from the mage trainer, and undeciphered scrolls are mainly random world drops with no dedicated farm (Method).
• The scroll: Scroll of the Saber is mage-only and binds when picked up. Its text says "Use on Blade of Silverlaine to create a powerful weapon". Method lists it at Comprehension 15.
• The sword: the scroll creates item 276631, a one-handed sword in the game files with no name or stats, so the client keeps it hidden. The name Coldflame Saber comes from Method and from PC Gamer, September 22, 2026, which adds that it was found in Shadowfang Keep.
• What the developers say: JudgeHype, October 12, 2026, reports they came back to a sword found on the beta that points to a melee mage (it does not name it), warned that information circulating online can be outdated, and said similar items could still be hidden.
• A second one: Scroll of the Blade on a Hypnotic Blade creates Narpas Sword (Method). Our library guide covers Research and the Bundle of Scrolls, and the mage page the class.

How does a druid learn Cat Form in WoW Forever?

In WoW Forever, a druid learns Cat Form through a class questline. The Warcraft Wiki, edited October 11, 2026), lists a level 20 quest, To Darnassus (To Thunder Bluff for the Horde), that teaches Cat Form, Claw, Prowl and Rip. Blizzard's notes of October 1, 2026 name two quests of the chain, The Great Cat Spirit and The Great Windborne Cat Spirit. Blizzard has published no walkthrough.

• The end of the chain: the wiki has Dendrite Starblaze in Moonglade send you to Mathrengyl Bearwalker in the Cenarion Enclave of Darnassus or, for the Horde, to Turak Runetotem on the Elder Rise of Thunder Bluff. We found no reliable page for the earlier quests.
• The relics: the game files of build 1.60.1.70707 hold three quest items, Relic of the Fang, Relic of the Claw and Relic of the Silent Shadow, without saying where they are.
• The blessing: a spell reads "Carrying the blessing of the Great Cat Spirit for passing its trials". Its Windborne version says "for passing the druidic trial of Azeroth".
• The beta bug: on October 1, Blizzard fixed "an issue where players were not receiving loot reliably" during both quests. On October 16, players on its forums still wrote that it was "impossible to loot the Relic of the Fang", and Kaivax answered the same day that a beta hotfix "fixed the bug preventing druids from looting the relics necessary to acquire Cat Form".
• Afterwards: Cat Form's numbers are on the druid abilities page, and the snake form guide covers its set-based look.

What is the Gift of Galloping in WoW Forever?

The Gift of Galloping adds 10% mounted speed for 15 days in WoW Forever's game files of build 1.60.1.70707, stacks with other mounted speed bonuses, and "expires while offline": the time keeps running when you log out. On the beta, the goblin Mister Graphed sold it in Riverglades for 150 gold, PC Gamer reported on September 28, 2026. We found no Blizzard article on it.

The item itself is epic, needs level 60 and has a 150 gold price in the game files. Mamytwink reported the same bonus on September 29, 2026. Our mounts guide compares it with the other speed bonuses, and our gold guide covers the vendor's other prices.

How do you get the Night Watchman's Torch in WoW Forever?

The Night Watchman's Torch gives light for 5 minutes in WoW Forever, with a 30-second cooldown. Method explained on October 7, 2026 that you get it from a quest on the body of a dead Night Watch Guard in Duskwood, at night, with no fixed location. Blizzard's beta notes adjusted it three times, and its podcast said the quest was disabled for the first week of the beta.

• Finding the guard (Method): wait until at least 20:00 game time. The first one was found at Raven Hill, at /way Duskwood 18.1 55.2. Several players can complete the quest, and a deleted torch can be claimed again.
• The Horde route (Method): zeppelin from Orgrimmar to Grom'gol in Stranglethorn Vale, then north into Duskwood.
• When it goes out (Method): any combat action, water, and major cities.
• Blizzard's notes: fixes in the notes of October 1 (lag, could not be cancelled), October 8 (aura now on the bearer only) and October 15 (Horde characters holding it).
• The podcast: according to Kami Labs, October 24, 2026, the developers disabled the quest and its NPC for the first week, and guards in Stormwind, Ironforge and Orgrimmar will carry torches at night.

The game files of build 1.60.1.70707 have no item row under this name, but its spells carry a French name: Torche du guetteur de nuit for the bearer's light, and Torche du garde de nuit for the light it casts on others.

What other secrets is Blizzard hiding in WoW Forever?

Blizzard keeps more WoW Forever secrets back on purpose. In its podcast of October 22, 2026, senior game designer Josh Greenfield spoke of "really well-buried stuff" that was "turned off" for the beta, TechRadar and Kami Labs report. Some items stay invisible to everyone until a player obtains one in game, so no guide can list them all yet, this one included.

A row in the game files is not a promise either: MeinMMO, October 24, 2026, warns against trusting datamined finds, and Kami Labs reports the same warning from the podcast. We add a source here when Blizzard or a dated report gives one.

• Library books: the books scattered in the world and the rewards at 10, 20 and 25 books.
• Druid snake form: the Wailing Caverns set that turns Cat Form into a snake.
• Rares: the rare creatures by zone, from our Classic data, to confirm on Forever.
• Merchant's Favor: the Waylaid Crates and what they ask for.
• Mounts: the mounts and speed bonuses known so far.
