First bags in WoW Forever: where to find them at low level

Where do you get your first bag in WoW Forever?

WoW Forever gives each race a free 6-slot bag from a quest in or next to its starting zone, Method reported on October 28, 2026 from beta data. The client tables confirm that all seven bags have 6 slots and bind on pickup, so each new character earns its own. Blizzard's starter guide warns that "bag space fills quickly".

Two checks: Blizzard's beta notes of September 24, 2026 name the quest Book Return and a Book Bag, and the Classic data has Carry Your Weight giving the Handmade Leather Bag. Which bags can you get at low level in WoW Forever?

At low level, WoW Forever offers bags of 6, 8, 10 and 12 slots from vendors, quests, world drops and crafters. No plain bag has a required level in the client tables, so a level 1 character can equip a 12-slot bag. Where a bag comes from is Classic data from cMaNGOS, to confirm on Forever, unless the table names another source. Each item page shows the vendor price and the auction house price.

Four bags of 6 slots add 24 slots, four of 8 add 32 and four of 12 add 48. The game client also holds bags with no known source: Restored Small Brown Pouch (6), Restored Brown Leather Satchel (8), Restored Heavy Brown Bag (10) and Shipwright's Satchel (a 6-slot Reagent Bag). That is what the client contains, not an announcement.

Where can you buy bags in WoW Forever?

WoW Forever vendors sell four plain bags, from the cheapest to the dearest: Small Brown Pouch (6 slots), Brown Leather Satchel (8), Heavy Brown Bag (10) and Huge Brown Sack (12). In the Classic data, supply vendors of the starting zones sell the first two and Bag Vendors in the capitals all four. Method saw the same list on the beta, with faction discounts applying. Each item page shows the price.

New zones such as Zephras Isle have no Classic vendor data. Blizzard's starter guide of October 28, 2026 gives the habit to take: "save coin for training, bags, and travel", and sell unwanted items in town. Which bags can tailors and leatherworkers make in WoW Forever?

"Tailoring creates cloth gear and bags", Blizzard's starter guide says. In WoW Forever's client tables, the Linen Bag comes with the profession, the Red Linen Bag asks for skill 50 and a pattern; the Woolen Bag asks for skill 80 and a trainer in the Classic data. Leatherworkers make quivers, ammo pouches, the Kodo Hide Bag and a Light Leather Reagent Bag. Each craft makes one bag, and each recipe page totals its cost.

• Cloth per slot: a Bolt of Linen Cloth takes 2 Linen Cloth, so the Linen Bag uses 6 Linen Cloth for 6 slots and the Red Linen Bag 8 for 8, plus its thread and dye.
• Where patterns come from: the Red Linen pattern is sold by Gina MacGregor (Westfall), Valdaron (Darkshore), Mahu (Thunder Bluff) and Andrew Hilbert (Silverpine Forest) in the Classic data; the Kodo Hide pattern comes from the Horde quest Kodo Hide Bag in Thunder Bluff, and the new reagent patterns from vendors and quartermasters, Method says, except the Horde's Light Leather Reagent Bag pattern, given by the Durotar quest Beasts of Thunder Ridge.
• Skills that differ: Method's guide gives higher skills (Linen Bag at the trainer at 45, Red Linen Bag at 70, Red Woolen Bag at 115). Those are Classic Era's numbers, and the Forever client lists 50 and 90 for the patterns. To check in game.
• One bag per craft: some guides on the web say a recipe makes two bags. The client's table says one on every Forever build we have read, up to 1.60.1.70707, where the same column reads 2 on a recipe that really makes two, such as Rough Copper Bomb.

Which quests and creatures give a bigger bag in WoW Forever?

At low level in WoW Forever, Poor Old Blanchy (Alliance, from level 9), Buzzbox 525 (Alliance, from level 7) and Parts and Pieces (both factions, from level 9, according to Method) each give an 8-slot bag. Deviate Hides gives a 10-slot one from level 13. The rare Fedfennel drops an 8-slot bag in Elwynn Forest and Foe Reaper 4000 a 10-slot one in Westfall, in the Classic data.

World drops are slow: in the Classic data, a 6-slot pouch falls from about 0.1% of kills at levels 1 to 11, and the 8 and 10-slot bags from about 0.125% at levels 9 to 33. Method reports about 0.5 to 1% per mob for the small pouches on the beta. Either way, they come on the side of questing. Quests by zone are in our zone guides.

Which special bags exist at low level in WoW Forever?

WoW Forever's client tables hold special bags for arrows, bullets, soul shards, herbs, enchanting materials, mining and skinning, each with its own bag type. Hunters' first quivers and pouches have 6 or 8 slots at level 1 and 10 slots at level 10. A warlock's Small Soul Pouch has 14 slots, against 12 in Classic Era. The 4-slot Apprentice's gathering bags are in the client, but no source says where they come from.

Where these bags come from is Classic data. Our class pages cover each class: hunter and warlock. The Vyrin's Revenge reward is a choice between the quiver and the ammo sack; The Night Watch also offers a 12-slot Quiver of the Night Watch or Bandolier of the Night Watch.

What are the Reagent Bag slot and the One-bag setting in WoW Forever?

WoW Forever has a Reagent Bag slot beside the four bag slots, Method explains, and the client's texts say "Only Reagents can be placed in Reagent Bags". One-bag is a starting setting of the presets, Blizzard says: on with Enhanced, off with Classic. Blizzard doesn't describe it further; the client has a "Combine Bags" option that shows the inventory "as a single bag window".

• Reagent Bag slot: the client's tutorial says "Any crafting materials you pick up will go into this bag", and an error message says "Reagent Bags can only be placed in the reagent bag slot". Tailors and leatherworkers make them, from 6 slots.
• Warlocks and hunters: Method says a warlock's soul bag fits this slot and a hunter's quiver doesn't. The client's own error text reads "Only Reagent Bags can be placed in the reagent bag slot", so check the warlock case in game.
• One-bag: Blizzard lists "One-bag on" for Enhanced and "One-bag off" for Classic (October 28 and October 29, 2026). Linking it to the "Combine Bags" option of the client is our reading, not Blizzard's.
• Sorting: the client also has "Clean Up Bags", which "auto-sorts your inventory to make room for new items". That is what the client contains.

Which bags are bigger in WoW Forever than in Classic Era?

Comparing the WoW Forever client tables with Classic Era's shows 14 bigger bags, leaving aside one test item. At low level, Old Blanchy's Feed Pouch goes from 4 to 8 slots, Handmade Leather Bag from 4 to 6, Red Linen Bag and Wizbang's Gunnysack from 6 to 8. Soul, herb and enchanting bags grow too, up to Satchel of Cenarius from 24 to 32.
